WRITING
Amy has been writing since she entered an American Girl writing contest at age twelve. She didn’t win that one, but (several years later) won Apartment Therapy blogger contest in 2008. She became a blogger for the website and has been writing about design, history and trends ever since.
Design History
As a design history scholar and writer, Amy has lectured at universities, museums and historical societies. Through her writing and speaking, she works to distill design contempts and make the subject interesting, engaging and accessible.
Travel
Amy’s passion for design both modern and historical extends to exploring and explicating the world of art, design and food. Whether it’s music in Uganda, student art in Sweden or Roman jewelry in Italy, Amy is passionate about sharing her discoveries.
